Norman Duane Ramsdell

Norman Ramsdell, age 63, of Baxter, passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Norm was born on April 24, 1953 in Bremerton, Washington to Norman & Violet (Hoskins) Ramsdell.

Norm worked for Keystone Automotive for 40 years. He was a proud and dedicated employee. Norm loved bowling. He is in the Brainerd/Baxter Hall of Fame, with five perfect games, and a 200+ average. Norm acted as the president for the local Bowling Association. He coached Jr league bowling in Brainerd for 30+ years. Norm also coached the Brainerd High School Bowling team for 17 years, coaching the varsity team for 2 years. Norm also was a sports enthusiastic, and played softball until he was 53. He enjoyed watching the Twins, and cheering them on. Norm also liked to fish and hunt.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Marjorie; children: Stacy (Nic) Lamke of Pequot Lakes, Amie (Todd Olson, Sr.) Ramsdell of Brainerd, Cory Snyder of Plymouth, Travis Snyder of Portland, OR, Shanna (Roger) Simmons of Brainerd and Shawna Simmons of Little Falls; mother, Violet Ramsdell of Verndale; siblings: Sandy Ramsdell of Verndale, Mike (linda) Ramsdell of Brainerd, Randy (Glenys) of Little Falls, Laurie (Kevin Pederson) of Motley and Ricky Ramsdell of Verndale; grandchildren: Todd, Jr., Mychelle, David, Tristan, Ethan, Jaden, Johnathan, Jesse, Elizabeth and Emma; great grandson, Xzavier.

Norm is preceded in death by his father; sisters: Wendy Wickman and Nancy Shonrock; grandchildren: Breanna and Brendan Lamke.

Funeral service for Norm will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11AM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home-BAXTER CHAPEL. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 4-7PM, and one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
