Erwin “Chuck” Shaw, age 83 of Carlton, passed away at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet on Monday, December 14, 2020. He was born September 8, 1937 in Richville, MN to Milton and Clara (Butler) Shaw. Chuck was a diesel mechanic and over the road truck driver. He was a member of the Cloquet Moose Lodge 1274 for 52 years. Chuck enjoyed camping with his wife, Shirley at Bent Trout Lake Campground and spending time with his family, and coffee and fun with his Pineview friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Shirley; five brothers; five brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law. He is survived by his son, Chuck (Patty) Shaw; daughter, Diana (Jeff) Mundell; four grandchildren, Charity (Ryan) Kaspari, Jeremy (Jamie) Kroll, Joe (Joanna) Prachar, and Jamie (Neil) Rossing; eight great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jonah, Shae, Jeret, Levi, Blake, Autumn, and Allie; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and nurses’ aides at Community Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed with a luncheon at the Cloquet Moose Club. Masks and social distancing are required. The funeral may be heard on FM Radio 91.1 from the funeral home parking lot.
