    Edna “Lorraine” Swenson Elmquist, age 92, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior at Cokato Manor on January 23rd in Cokato, MN. Lorraine was was born on September 11, 1927 in Clayton, WI to Anton and Ruth (Blomquist) Swenson. She moved to a farm near Kandiyohi, MN when she was nine years old and graduated from Willmar High School in 1945. She was in the first graduating class from Rice Memorial Hospital’s LPN nursing school and worked as an LPN at Rice Memorial (Willmar) and Cloquet Memorial Hospitals. On Easter Sunday morning, April 16, 1933, Everrett William Smith was born to Arthur and Caroline (Hempel) Smith at the family farm in Middleville Township, west of Howard Lake. Everrett attended Howard Lake elementary and high school, graduating in 1951. After high school he farmed with his father until entering the US Army in 1955, serving 16 months in Korea. He attended School through eighth grade at the Dewey School. He then helped his parents on the family farm until being drafted into the US Army in December of 1950.
